War or Peace? The Power of Words

Christian Bible begins with the words “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”  We could spend lifetimes trying to understand these words alone –  Words creates our World.

We have long heard the phrases “the power of the pen” and “the pen is mightier than the sword”

Words dictate our emotions and those who have not practiced separating reason from emotion when reading or listening are always at the the mercy of other people’s words.

Words move us to feel emotions.  Emotions move us to actions.  Actions and words cause reactions from ourselves, others and the Universe.  Now we are manifesting our reality, our lives, our reality.

Words – what we say and what we hear – what we choose to listen to create our reality.  Words, the most powerful, creative force we know?  Words can lift us up and words can bring us down.  Therefore words can raise our vibrations and words can lower our vibrations.

Somebody also said “Silence is golden and speech only silver.”

We all have a public responsibility to “think before we talk” and choose our words carefully because Words can lead nations to War or to Peace.

We all have a private and personal responsibility to our family, friends and work colleagues to “think before we talk”, not indulge in gossip and passing on stories based on our personal prejudices and opinions of others.  Our Words can lead to broken relationships, lost career opportunities and personal as well as career disasters for those we talk about.

To intentionally colour another person’s picture of someone on the negative side is inviting trouble on ourselves.  This stuff comes back to haunt!  Here is something to consider – if every word we ever spoke about another was somehow recorded in the ethers and was one day going to be played back on the internet or a TV channel so everyone could hear – would we be ‘talking’ as much?

We all have a personal responsibility to protect ourselves from those who would move us to our doom.

It is a wise man who believes only half of what his own eyes tell him and believes nothing he hears!  That was something my dad taught me when I was 12 – we used to have late night chats, just him and me, where he passed on what he thought I needed to know in life.  I was about to leave home and go to boarding school at the time.

“Knew I then that in Words are power
to open the planes that are hidden from man.
Aye, that even in Words lies hidden the key
that will open above and below.”
  – from the Emerald Tablets of Thoth (Egyptian God of Wisdom)
